With LAGCOE 2019, Louisiana’s annual energy industry conference, just around the corner, this is an exciting time for oil and gas geeks like ourselves.
If you haven’t heard of LAGCOE before, it’s basically Comic-Con but for engineers, businessmen and industry experts (fortunately, with a lot less cosplay). With dozens of speakers, hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of attendees every year, it’s pretty easy to get lost in all of the hustle and bustle of the 64-year-old conference.
To help mitigate some of this confusion, we’ve developed a hit list of our top 5 must-see events at this year’s LAGCOE conference.
1. Growing The Relevance of ESG Across the Oilfield Services Equipment Sector
Environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria is becoming a more popular method for investors to screen potential investments. As a result, many companies are just beginning to appreciate the necessity of placing higher importance on expanding ESG sectors while developing more comprehensive understandings of the complex ESG requirements.
Leslie Beyer, president of PESA, Jock Pool, chief compliance officer of Oceaneering International, and Yvonne Fletcher, senior vice president of finance and investor relations of Solaris Oilfield Infrastructure, are conducting a panel which will discuss ESG criteria and best practices for the oilfield services and equipment sector—we’re particularly excited to hear from these big names!
2. A Brave New World: Drilling in the New Energy Future
It doesn’t take a genius to point out that the drilling industry is changing. Gone are the days of old school roughnecks and get it done attitudes leading the charge; technology is reinventing the way companies operate and providing sophisticated solutions to previously unsolvable problems.
Kevin Krausert, president and CEO of Beaver Drilling, will speak about the new future of the drilling industry by providing valuable insight into the history of energy technology and transitions. A particular focus will be placed on The Avatar Program, the ground-breaking collaboration between Beaver Drilling and the University of Calgary, along with other companies paving the way with technology-driven business models.
3. DEL Tank Booth
Our friend Dan Baker of DEL Tank & Filtration Systems will be hosting a booth at LAGCOE 2019, and we’re looking forward to visiting with them to see what they’ve been cooking up.
With an impressive 23-acre manufacturing facility operating out of Scott, Louisiana, DEL Corporation offers full-service design and manufacturing services for all types of customized tank systems and equipment with a global list of clients.
When you stop by, be sure to ask about their patent-pending Sandcat Total Clean Flowback System and their Kodiak Total Clean Mud System.
4. MLC CAD Booth
When it comes to CAD design software, SOLIDWORKS, Mastercam and Markforged rule the road. Impressively, MLC CAD specializes in all three.
With over 30 years of experience to back them up, MLC CAD specializes in providing, supporting and implementing engineering solutions and coaching their customers through technology integration. However, we’re most excited to learn about their 3D printing technologies and support services.
5. Who Says Engineers Can’t Sell?
You know we couldn’t help promoting our main man Clayton George, president and founder of PES, as he presents with Tully Blanchard, business development manager of CNC Billet, at LAGCOE 2019!
Whether you’re in sales, engineering or just want to be better at persuading people, you’re not going to want to miss this blend of topical and technical presentation, as the two business leaders discuss in-depth their methodology for sales conversions. This dynamic presentation will examine both the art and science of sales and show how even engineers can simplify their messaging to sell with strategy.
